Every specialist we introduce you to has been carefully selected, not just for their expertise, but for how they work, the values they hold and how they treat the people they support.
This Code of Conduct sets out what you can expect from every amelliora specialist. It is the standard we hold all of our partners to, and the basis on which we make introductions.
How we select our specialists
Every specialist in the amelliora network has been assessed against clear criteria covering their qualifications, experience, approach and values. We do not accept referral fees or commercial arrangements from any specialist we work with. Our introductions are made in your interest alone.
What every amelliora specialist commits to
They will treat you with care and without judgement
Separation is one of the most significant experiences a person can go through. Every specialist in our network understands that. They will listen carefully, treat you with respect, and never make you feel judged for the decisions you are making or the situation you are in.
They will be honest and clear
They will give you clear, honest guidance including when the answer is difficult or uncertain. They will not tell you what you want to hear at the expense of what you need to know. They will be transparent about their fees, their process and what they can and cannot help with.
They will respond to you in a timely way
We ask all our specialists to acknowledge your first contact within two working days and to keep you informed of timescales throughout. If something changes or is delayed, they will let you know.
They will work constructively
Where children are involved, their wellbeing comes first. Our specialists are committed to reducing conflict where possible, avoiding inflammatory language, and helping you find solutions that work for everyone not just winning arguments.
They will help you understand your options and respect the decisions are yours
Their role is to make sure you understand the choices available to you, the implications of each, and the longer-term consequences, financial, legal and emotional. They will inform and guide, not direct. They will work at your pace and never push you toward a particular outcome.
They will maintain strict confidentiality
Everything you share with an amelliora specialist is treated as confidential. They will not share your information without your consent except where required by law or professional obligation, in which case they will discuss this with you wherever possible in advance.
They will work within their area of expertise
Our specialists will be clear about what they can and cannot help with. If your needs fall outside their area, they will tell you and we can help you find the right support.
They will continue to develop their knowledge and skills
All specialists in the amelliora network commit to maintaining and developing their professional competence through ongoing training, supervision and professional development relevant to their field.
Our commitment to you
amelliora is not a referral service. We are a coordination and navigation service. Our role is to make sure the support you receive is what you need, is joined up, sequenced properly, and always in your interest.
